What is an E-Commerce Transaction?

E-commerce transaction refers to the purchases of goods / products through Internet using their Debit / Credit Card Number and CVV (Card Verification Value) number or through Internet Banking Channel.

Who are all the eligible customers for doing E-Commerce Transaction?

As such, the customers having the VISA Debit card with CVV number.

What can I do if, the CVV Number is not printed in my Visa Debit Card?

The customer has advised to approach the branch for applying the new Debit card with CVV number. However the charges would applicable for issuing New Debit Card.

Can I Change the CVV number?

The customer can not change the CVV number.

How I can make E-Commerce Transactions through Internet?

At present, the customer has to feed the 16 digit card number and 3 digits CVV (Card Verification Value) for authorization. This CVV is printed on the back side of the Debit Card.

If, any one knows my Debit Card Number and CVV number, Can he/she make E-Commerce Transaction?

Yes, very well. The Card Number and CVV number known to any one can do the E-Commerce Transaction through Internet.

Then, how the System will know that I only made any E-Commerce Transaction?

As per the industry practice, the System does not know about the customer validation, it validates only the Card number and Its CVV number for any transactions.

Then, how to avoid the Misuse of my Debit Card through Internet?

Apart from the Card number and CVV Validation, we can validate the Customer verification through a Password which could be obtained by registering the card at "Verified By Visa" (VbyV) Registration Authority.

Where could I register my Debit / Credit card for the Verified By Visa Security Mechanism?

Either the customer can visit our website www.kvb.co.in for registration or the customer will be automatically diverted to the registration page during their First E-Commerce purchase provided the merchant portal establishment is VbyV enabled.

You may note that you would be providing your ATM PIN for Registering VbyV. Although this is a one time process and the ATM PIN is used only authentication in secured way, it is suggested that the customers immediately change their ATM PIN at any of our ATMs at their own safety.

Is the VbyV compulsory for all E-Commerce Transactions?

No. If the Merchant establishment is enabled with Verified by Visa than only, it will require the VbyV authentication, otherwise the E-Commerce transaction will be authenticated only by the Debit Card Number and CVV number.
